Samira

Samira is a new play set in Damascus in 2011, during the protests that marked the beginning of a profound change. The protagonist, Samira, is a charismatic and radical figure who shares her account in real time, while a group of academics in London follows her story with growing engagement, until her sudden disappearance.

Written by Carmen Nasr and directed by Emily Burns, the play features a cast including May Calamawy, Joshua McGuire, and Sirine Saba. For information regarding assisted performances, please contact the National Theatre directly.
